AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER: IMPACTS OF DIAGNOSIS AND ITS REPERCUSSIONS IN THE CONTEXT OF FAMILY RELATIONS

The aim of this study is to address the diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and its impacts on family life, to understand and analyze its consequences for the lives of family members who have been diagnosed with the disorder and how they are perceived after the designation of a diagnosis. Given the above, this article aims to understand and analyze the impacts on families who have the diagnosis of autism in their children. For this, the specific objectives are to develop an analysis of autism, symptoms and clinical manifestations that are common in children from the first months of life until diagnosis, analyze the impacts generated on the family and family environment with the diagnosis of autism and analyze family reorganization after the impact of the autism diagnosis on their children. For this, a qualitative bibliographic research was used, searching for texts and books that address the late diagnosis of ASD.
